Our luncheon for October will be October 17th (Wednesday) at 12:00 in 5C. This will be a Soup, Salad and Sandwich luncheon (and of course dessert). Time to tryout those good winter soup recipes. There will be a sign up sheet in the lounge on 6.  Helen is not collecting money so you will need to bring a dish or other item if you plan to attend.

The United Way Committee has been hard at work planning this year's United Way Campaign. The Committee consists of Kathy Roberts, Linda Brown, Luann Corbeil, Melisa Wolfe, Kelly Lundrigan, Jeff Mullins, and myself.

The Committee has come up with some great new ideas for the campaign, and we feel that this year's campaign will be a huge success. We will not only have individual incentives for contributors but also a team competition. Each employee will be assigned to a team and compete against the rest of the firm for team prizes. There will also be new company recognitions from the United Way for companies that excel in the campaign.

Last year, we raised a respectable $21,082.88; however, we hope to exceed this amount by a substantial margin this year. Although we are one of the largest law firms in Dayton, if not the largest, Thompson, Hine raised $46,544.50 and Chernesky raised $34,143.16 last year. It would be great if we could come closer to their totals this year.

The campaign will run from October 10 through October 19. We will have a kickoff breakfast party at 9:00 on October 10 and an end-of-the-campaign pizza party on October 24.
